Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder review!

Having tried Bourjois products before and really liking them, I decided to buy myself a face powder. Recently, my face has been getting quite oily around my T-zone and I wanted to put  Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder to the test as it is specially designed to put keep oil at bay.

This powder claims to stay put for ten hours and contains Sharon fruit to smooth and moisturise dry areas and Yuzu fruit to absorb excess shine. It is an 'Asian fruit therapy formula to restore balance to the skin' while also boosting radiance.

I got shade 52 Vanilla, the lightest shade in the collection. I was quite disappointed to see there was only a limited amount of shades. There were only four powders to choose from! Despite this problem 52 Vanilla is the perfect colour for me.

Plus, the smell is absolutely gorgeous like all Bourjois products. It's a fruity, subtle and fresh smell. Think Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation.

The powder comes in a super slim, red compact with a wonderfully large mirror. This is the perfect compact for on the go. Much to my annoyance, this powder comes with no applicator. I would of expected a powder puff to be included because of the quite expensive price of £8.49.

The powder itself is creamy, light weight and soft to the touch. I really enjoy the texture of this powder.

This applies beautifully to my face. It is very matt but looks natural. The powder is quite fine so it doesn't look cakey at all. This powder provides a lot coverage and really did eliminate a lot of shine especially from my problem areas such as my T-zone! I use this on top of foundation so this powder helps me create a flawless finish! This product applies very evenly and the shade is fantastic for me.

I do find this powder clings to dry areas on the face but this problem can be easily sorted with a little moisturiser before using the powder. However, I think this powder is a no-no for those with dry skin!

I'm not sure about the ten hour claim. I only needed to touch up once through out the day which I was pleased about but it stays on for no where near ten hours! However, this powder doesn't 'streak' as it fades off.

VERDICT - Overall, I am pretty pleased with this product and happy I purchased it! It looks pretty in my make-up bag and is easy to carry around because of the slim packaging. The mirror in the compact is really handy for touch ups though out the day. I am slightly disappointed that it didn't come with a powder puff. The smell is deliciously fruity and fresh.

The powder is such a lovely soft texture and applies evenly on the skin with great coverage. This powder does completely hide any shine and oil.

However, it doesn't stay on for ten hours and clings to any dry patches. This problem doesn't really bother me much as I only needed touch-up once more during the day.

The shades are also a let down as it only has four shades in the collection so it doesn't have a powder for everyone's skin colour.

At £8.49, this is a very expensive powder but does the job perfectly for me.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, Skin Protectant and Lip Balm review!

I was a newbie to Elizabeth Arden products when I bought a small sample set of the Eight hour creams last year. I've read a lot of reviews saying that the Eight hour creams are beauty must-haves so it was only natural for me to buy some of my own.

Elizabeth Arden Cream Lip Protectant Stick Sunscreen SPF 15, Eight Hour Intensive Daily Moisturizer for Face SPF 15
and Eight Hour Skin Protectant.
What I love about Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour creams are that they are extremely hydrating and leave my skin feeling silky smooth and moisturized for up to 8 hours. These creams are perfect if you want to protect your skin from extreme weather conditions as the SPF of 15 shields the skin from the harmful effects of the sun and extreme weather conditions.

The 8 hour creams are rich, thick creams without being greasy so they do not cause breakouts from blocking pores. They intensively moisturize the skin to prevent dryness and flaking - perfect for severely dry Winter skin! The creams are suitable for every skin type out there and are an absolute must-have for everyone!

My sample kit consists of:

  • Elizabeth Arden Cream Lip Protectant Stick Sunscreen SPF 15.
  • Eight Hour Intensive Daily Moisturizer for Face SPF 15.
  • Eight Hour Skin Protectant.

Elizabeth Arden Cream Lip Protectant Stick Sunscreen SPF 15 - This lip protectant comes in a range of different shades. It moisturises the lips intensively while protecting against the suns harmful rays. This lip balm glides on the lips like a treat and softens and makes lips incredibly smooth. The lip protectant is very scented and smells a lot like lemons but almost verging on a medicated fragrance. The smell doesn't affect me too much as this lip balm loves and cares for my lips like no other!

Eight Hour Intensive Daily Moisturizer for Face SPF 15 - This rich intensive daily moisturizer protects skin from climate changes and extreme weather while the SPF15 shields skin from the harmful effects of the sun. This is the perfect moisturizer for anyone who wants to take good care of their skin as it is suitable for all skin types! The aroma of this cream is just like the lip protector. It smells like lemons but almost smells medicated which I didn't expect from a moisturizer like this one. However, I wouldn't stop using the cream because of the scent. The consistency is thick and creamy but verges on heavy. On my face it feels completely different as it feels comfortable, light weight and non greasy. My face feels deeply moisturized and hydrated with a silky smooth feel.

Eight Hour Skin Protectant - This protectant soothes and cares for skin that is in need of love. This product soothes the effects of sun burn, chapped skin, scrapes, abrasions, peeling, flaking and so much more. This really is a miracle cream as it even heals minor burns and irritations. The protective formula moisturises, softens and makes replenished skin look revitalised instantly! This is more like an ointment than a skin protectant. The consistency is not to my liking as it is rather gloopy and hard to blend into the skin. Needless to say, this product smells just like the other 8 Hour Creams as it is very heavily medicated, more so than the others. What I do love about this skin protectant is that I can apply however much I want during the course of the day. This product benefits those with dry skin especially.

VERDICT - After being a total newbie to Elizabeth Arden products I am now a dedicated costumer. I am truly blown away by the 8 Hour Cream collection. This isn't just the latest trend, this really is a beauty must-have. It isn't called 8 Hour Cream for nothing either as the products from the 8 hour range leave my skin feeling silky smooth and moisturized for up to 8 hours. The SPF of 15 is another advantages as it protects my skin all day long.

Although I am not fond of the smell of these products, it does not stop me from using them daily as I am truly addicted. Also, a little really does go a long way as the smallest blob gives great coverage so its well worth the expensive price.

The creams are suitable for every skin type out there and despite being quite intensive, they do not cause break outs or clogged pores. They are an absolute must-have for everyone!

Collection Volume Sensation Lipstick in 12 Tea Rose review!

Collection's Volume Sensation Lipstick claims to be just another volumising lipstick with '40% volumising ingredients to plump up your pout in a flash,' but I found that Collection's Volume Sensation lipstick really is a sensation.

I purchased lip shade 12 Tea Rose while on the go after being won over by the bargain of this lipstick. It is only £2.99, so how could I go wrong?

Collection's Volume Sensation lipsticks have 11 wearable shades in playful pinks, cute corals and pretty plums. Shade 12 Tea Rose is a lovely coral toned nude which is a great shade that looks very natural on the lips. I found this to be a full coverage pigmented lipstick with a semi-matte finish to the lips. As promised, I found that this lipstick was surprisingly moisturizing on the lips with a beautiful creamy feel. The formula is smooth and moisturizing and really comfortable to wear.

Swatch: Collection's Volume Sensation lipstick in shade 12 Tea Rose.

Collection's Volume Sensation lipstick's have amazing staying power too. It only took one application of to achieve a pigmented shade that lasts for three hours and probably longer before I had to reapply. However, as the lipstick begins to fade off it becomes a little drying on the lips but it doesn't put me off from wearing this lipstick as there are so many advantages!

As this is a volumising lipstick I didn't find that my pout looked more plumper or puckered which is a massive downfall for this volumising lipstick. My lips definitely tingled when I applied and the sensation was much like Soap and Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker but  Collection's Volume Sensation lipstick doesn't work as a lip plumper - just a great lipstick!

The smell doesn't effect me too much. I personally like it. The scent is kind of like a fruity fragrance and I imagine it wouldn't be for everyone but thankfully the scent doesn't stay on the lips at all.

I guess some people would say the packaging is tacky but I like it! The shape of the lipstick isn't designed to the natural shape of the lips so a lip brush and liner may be needed for precise application.

VERDICT - Collection's Volume Sensation Lipstick is a beauty bargain at only £2.99! My lips don't look deliciously plumped after using this product but that doesn't hide the fact of this being a great lipstick. I absolutely love shade 12 Tea Rose. The colour is a wearable pigmented coral toned nude that makes the perfect natural lip colour. The lipstick is thick and creamy making it feel smooth and moisturizing on the lips with great lasting power!

I recommend Collection's Volume Sensation Lipstick to everyone! I'm definitely going to invest in more of the shades from this range because at £2.99 you can't do wrong!

Mane 'n Tail Detangler review!

I've made no secret about being a big fan of Mane 'n Tail and having never used a hair detangling product before, I wasn't sure how I was going to react to this detangler. I was looking forward to seeing the results!

In typical Mane 'n Tail packaging, this spray does everything it says on the tin and I am extremely impressed with the results. From the very first application I saw a very positive difference in my hair.

You can use this spray on damp or dry hair. I chose to use this spray on damp hair as my hair gets very tangled and fragile after washing it. What I first noticed about this product is that the smell isn't as sweet or fruity as other Mane 'n Tail products.

Straight after I applied this product, I  combed my hair and I was shocked! My hair was so much easier to brush. I didn't have to tug or pull at my hair so there was less breakage, my hair is softer, feels moisturised and healthy. While using Mane 'n Tail styling my hair takes less time than ever. My hair has never looked as good.

The results are long lasting. The next day after using this product my hair still had amazing shine, looked super silky and no tangles!  My hair is softer than ever and so much more manageable. I definitely think this is one of the best hair products I have ever bought. Although this is the first detangler I have used I don't think I'll be experimenting with any others as I can't imagine any other detangler beating this one!

VERDICT -  You simply cannot go wrong with Mane 'n Tail's detangler. I used to have tangled, unmanageable hair but this seems to be a thing of the past. Since using this product, I have seen amazing results and not only is my hair tangle-free, it is also in great condition with less breakage and more shine. The spray feels ultra light on the hair and doesn't weigh my hair down or make my hair feel greasy in the slightest. I am so happy I have found this detangler!

I would definitely re-purchase without a doubt. This product gives me salon worthy results that I absolutely love!

Rimmel Metal Rush nail polish in Gold Save The Queen review!

Late last year Rimmel launched a new collection of 'fierce metallic two tone nail colours.' There are four colours in the 'Metal Rush' collection; Royale Blue, Gold Save The Queen, Purple Reign and Pearly Queen.

Rimmel's Metal Rush nail polish in shade 70 Gold Save The Queen.
I purchased shade 70 Gold Save The Queen as I'm a sucker for golden metallic nail polishes and Rimmel's 'Metal Rush' collection didn't disappoint. Gold Save The Queen is a bronzed gold with brown undertones. The 'nail colour changes when you move,' so the colour then shifts to a dirty gold colour and even a greenish shade!

Gold Save The Queen duochrome effect isn't as effective as the other shades in the 'Metal Rush' collection but it's gorgeous as the polish shimmers in copper, gold, yellow, green and brown shades with fine specks of glitter. I love Gold Save The Queen and I think this polish would make the perfect Autumn shade because of the warm golden, bronze shades mixed into it.

The formula itself is incredible! I found that two coats gave my nails opaque coverage with maximum effect of the polish. The high-shine matte finish gives my nails a shiny and glossy appearance so I don't even need to apply top coat. The polish also dries very quickly which is also great. It is a long lasting polish as it was more than a few days before I noticed any chipping at all.

Like other Rimmel nail polishes, the bottle is quite small and contains 8ml of product. The brush is flat and wide but makes sure to cover the whole nail with one simple sweep.

VERDICT - The 'nail colour that changes when you move' is great value at only £3.99! I'm a sucker for metallic polish and Rimmel's 'Metal Rush' range is a winner in my eyes. Gold Save The Queen is a top quality nail polish that is long lasting with a high glossy matte finish. The brush makes an amazing applicator as it covers the whole nail in one simple sweep. Two applications gave my nails opaque coverage with maximum effect of the polish.

The two tone effect of the polish is amazing! The duochrome effect of shade Gold Save The Queen is subtle compared to the other colour in the range but I love it! The bronzed polish shifts to a dirty gold that shimmers in copper, gold, yellow, green and brown shades with specks of glitter to keep me satisfied.

A must-have for anyone that loves metallic nails with an edge!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Ammo Shadow Box review!

Who wouldn't want Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Ammo Shadow Box? This beautiful palette consists of Urban Decay's 10 best selling eye shadows. It is perfect for any eye shadow fan, especially those who love to sparkle!

This shadow box has the shades Smog, Mildew, Oil Slick, Last Call, Chopper, Maui Wowie, Shattered, Polyester Bride, Grifter and Sin. I really love the variety of shades in this shadow box. Each shadow is different. Also, all ten shades are part of the permanent range, so they can be purchased individually if desired.

The top row of shadows contain:
No camera flash - Smog, Mildew, Oil Slick, Last Call and Chopper.

Camera flash - Smog, Mildew, Oil Slick, Last Call and Chopper

Smog - This is a warm, bronze medium-brown colour that really suits those with green or blue eyes. It is quite a coppery colour but has a nice shimmer that applies nicely to the eyes. It is also very pigmented.

Mildew - This is an unusual colour. It is a mossy dark green colour with a subtle shimmer. This isn't my favourite of the bunch.

Oil Slick - A lovely classic black with teal micro-shimmer. This is pigmented but applies on the lid a little more gray-black than the eye shadow colour leads on. It does apply a little more drier than the other shadows too.

Last Call - This is a wonderful heather-pink colour. It has red undertones, metallic, and applies very pigmented on the lid so you don't need much shadow. Yet again, this is another very unique colour but be careful not to apply much as it is quite a red shadow.

Chopper - This is an orange almost gold light brown. This shadow also has a metallic finish that I personally love. This shadow has a very smooth texture and has a lot of shimmer in it.

The bottom row of shadows consists of:

No flash - Maui Wowie, Shattered, Polyester Bride, Grifter and Sin.

Camera flash - Maui Wowie, Shattered, Polyester Bride, Grifter and Sin.

Maui Wowie - This is an almost dirty gold colour. The pigmentation is absolutely fantastic and definitely one of my favourites from this shadow box.

Shattered - I personally don't like this colour as it is a quite a daring, teal blue shade with a frosty finish. However, it does apply very soft and has a nice amount of shimmer.

Polyester Bride - I use this shadow a lot on my brow bone and the inner of my eye as it is a great highlighter. It has a lot of sliver glitter in but applies to my eyes as a creamy white shadow when blended. This isn't quite as pigmented as I would of liked.

Grifter - This is a lovely light purple pink shadow. Almost like a lavender colour. The glitter doesn't look as obvious as some of the other shadows in the box and the colour is very sheer.

Sin - This is my favourite in the shadow box. Very pigmented, high shine and a gorgeous colour. The shadow is hard to describe but it looks very much like a warm beige. This shadow has a really nice amount of glitter and doesn't look over the top.

VERDICT - Urban Decay Eyeshadow Ammo Shadow Box makes a real treat. The shadow box comes with a handy double ended brush and an excellent mirror. The shadows don't smudge, crease or 'melt away' during the day so they are really worth it. It's expensive but a little really does go a long way!

Each colour is different which is great so it really is worth the buy. The palette lasts for ages, the shadows apply smoothly and the colours don't fade in the slightest. I would definitely go as far to say I would buy this whole palette again!

Sanctuary 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask review!

Sanctuary 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask is probably my favourite face mask I have ever bought. It does exactly what it says on the tin and definitely benefits my skin every time I use it. This is a perfect mask to use for an ultimate pamper session because of the wonderful warming sensation from the mask. I really feel like it gives my face a well deserved treat!

The face mask come in a 100ml tube and you get a lot of product.
The bottle last for a long time and not much product is needed either. A little really does go a long way! This mask is best used twice weekly.

The mask can be applied on a dry or damp face after cleansing and thoroughly removing make-up. Damp is probably best as it allows you to smooth the mask over skin easily. You only need one-two blobs of the product to cover the whole face.

The consistency is rather unusual and does need some getting used to! It's very thick, almost clay-like so makes it harder to blend onto my face. I almost have to 'rub' the mask on my face rather than smooth it on. The smell is also clay like and verges on an  unpleasant plastic scent. I don't think many people would like the smell or consistency of this mask. I have to admit, I was pretty turned off the mask until I actually put it on my face!

But here is the wonderful thing about this mask, The self-heating effect. The heat that comes from this mask the minute it is applied to the face is absolutely amazing! It is super hot and relaxing on the skin. I was in almost shock the first time I used this mask as it does apply quite unnaturally hot but after a minute or two, you get a gorgeous warm feeling. I think most people will enjoy this part of the mask.

Because the mask is self-heating due to the Charcoal in the mask, I feel like it is opening my pores to give my skin a deep cleanse and help clear my skin. You only leave it on for five minutes but because of the warm sensation on the skin, you feel relaxed and even the smell starts to become calming after a while! This mask is really therapeutic for when your having a bad day.

This mask is a clay-like consistency, making it difficult to apply to the face easily.

I was dreading washing this mask off at first because of how thick this face mask is to apply but to my surprise it washed off like a dream without any mess or fuss! It is actually much easier to remove then put on and washes off easier than many other face masks I have previously used.

It didn't make my face feel tight or dry. I have already noticed a wonderful difference in my skin! My spots have reduced, my skin is softer, much smoother and calmer. It has also made my face less prone to shine. I couldn't have asked for more!

VERDICT - Sanctuary 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask is a favourite with me. The gloopy consistency, plastic smell and expensive price of £10.20 (psst! you can get sample sizes of this mask at £2.05 from Boots!) doesn't seem as important when the mask gives you amazing results like this one! I would definitely purchase this mask again without a doubt. It makes me feel good being in my skin as it reduces spots, shine and dullness and replaces it with brighter, clearer and smoother skin.

I would buy this mask for the amazing thermal effect alone. It is really calming, relaxing and opens up the pores to give a deep cleanse. I have never used anything quite like this. A real (heart warming!) treat for everyone!

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation review!

I'm a massive fan of Bourjois make-up and I'm always on the hunt for a new foundation. I recently purchased Bourjois 123 Perfect foundation. Personally, I quite like this foundation but I can see why it isn't for everybody.

123 Perfect in shade 51 Light Vanilla.

What I love about Bourjois 123 Perfect foundation is the creamy, thick consistency. I would say that this foundation gives my skin medium coverage with a powder/matte finish. The foundation is extremely lightweight when applied and doesn't feel cakey or like a mask. However, I would not apply too much product on the face as it oxidizes on the skin and in my case, the foundation gave an orange hue to my complexion which I found unusual as I purchased shade 51 Light Vanilla - one of the lightest shades in the collection. As there are only five shades to choose from it is hard to find the right colour for your skin tone.

Swatch: 123 Perfect has a creamy consistency that doesn't dry out the skin and promises to hide imperfections.

I find that is product is especially beneficial for those with oily/combination skin types as the foundation dries matte. If you have dry skin this foundation is a definite no no! When my skin goes through a dry phase, I found that the foundation clung to dry areas and made flaking more obvious. I have oily skin and I found that this foundation stayed put on my skin for most of the day with some slight fading.

123 Perfect has three correcting pigments - yellow to conceal dark circles, mauve to perk up dull complexions, green to soften any redness on the face. In other words this foundation is perfect for those who want to hide their imperfections. I do think that this product evened out my skin tone and it is pigmented enough to cover the redness on my face due to my acne scarring but the foundation didn't give me enough coverage to conceal all of my imperfections as Bourjois claims.

Before 123 Perfect - I have oily skin with acne scarring but this foundation has
a correcting pigmented formula.
After using Bourjois 123 Perfect my complexion has medium coverage with a
 powdery/matte finish.

The packaging is perfect in my eyes and quite different from Bourjois usual packaging. 123 Perfect comes in a study glass bottle that is reasonable size with a foundation pump. Foundation pumps are always a plus in my eyes as I can control how much product I use without wastage. Another thing I loved was the fresh, natural rosy fragrance. The scent is subtle and stays with me all day.

VERDICT - At £10.99, 123 Perfect is perfect for those who want to hide their imperfections. I found that the product covers most of my imperfections but not entirely due to the medium coverage. I also love the fact that this foundation has an SPF of 10. I love the creamy, hydrating consistency that glides onto the face. As the consistency is so creamy it is surprisingly not greasy when applied.

The foundation is extremely beneficial to those with oily/combination skin due to the foundation's powdery/matte finish. The foundation starts to appear unnatural if you start to build it up to achieve full coverage. It is hard to find the right shade for your skin tone as there are little shades in the collection. As the foundation oxidizes on the skin it creates an orangey hue to my complexion in natural light and that really puts me off this foundation.

I would repurchase this foundation again but only if Bourjois had more of a colour range in the collection.

Simple Spotless Skin Triple Action Face Wash review!

This face wash promises 'results from day one. It's a perfect blend of spot fighting ingredients and natural antibacterial goodness to deeply cleanse, purify and tone, removing hidden dirt and unclogging pores.'

Being such a big fan as Simple I had very high expectations for this face wash. Like all Simple products, it contains no perfume or colour so it is perfect for even the most sensitive of skin types.

This product contains Zinc which absorbs oils and Chamomile which is excellent for calming down redness.

First, I washed my face with water and I only needed a very small blob of this face wash, which is great as that means the bottle will last a  fairly long time. This face wash is quite odourless but does smell quite fresh and natural. It is colourless and looks very much like a clear gel with small bits in. At first, I was a little unsure if this face wash. The little hard bits in the wash looked like they might irritate my skin as it looked quite 'scratchy.'

I have been pleasantly surprised by this face wash. It didn't make my skin feel dry, tight or red which past face washes have done to my skin. Immediately after using this face wash my skin has felt refreshed and clean. Also, my skin looked so much more brighter after using this product.

However, I didn't see results from day one as Simple claims. My spots do look less red and I don't break out as often. This wash definitely helps reduce oil produce and I would recommend to anyone with oily skin.

VERDICT - I like using this wash and for me, the best thing about it is how much brighter it makes my skin look after use. However, Simple says this product is for 'spotless' skin and although I see my skin looking a bit clearer, it didn't give me results from 'day one' and I still get the occasional blemish while using this face wash. That said though, I love the fresh feeling this face wash gives and how clean my face feels after using it. It doesn't dry skin out either and doesn't leave a 'tight' feeling.

This Simple face wash is £3.99. I would definitely buy this face wash again if I wanted an affordable but good value product. The ingredients are natural which is always an advantage for me. I did expect a little more from Simple but on the whole I am quite happy with this face wash and will continue to use it.

L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Quad review!

I decided to get some new eye shadows for myself and despite not buying much from L'Oreal, I liked the look of L'Oreal's Paris Colour Riche Quad. There are four different eye shadows set out in a cute shape in the quad. I got mine in Nude Lingerie. The colours are browns, beiges and  natural looking shades. I could wait to try them out.

First of all, I really love the colour combination. The dark and lighter colours can create a wonderful smoky eye and there are useful instructions on the back of the case in which it helps you create the perfect eye shadow look with the quad.

The packaging is average in my eyes. Nothing special but nothing particularly bad about it. I like that it comes with a double ended brush to apply the different shadows with. The brush is soft and simple with a slightly angled brush on one end. I do really love the quirky design the eye shadows come in.

Swatches: L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Quad eye shadows without flash.

Swatches: L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Quad eye shadows with the camera flash on.

There are two browns, one dark and the other a lighter brown. There is a lovely tanned beige shade and a white shadow which works and looks a lot like a high lighter and illuminator. I love the colours and they are excellent to build up and also work extremely well together.

The shadows have a nice amount of shimmer in them. They are subtle enough to wear in the day but can be glammed up for night. Once I apply these shadows, they stay put all day. They have excellent staying power and the colours don't fade. The shadows also don't crease in the eye lid as the day goes on either which is always a plus for me!

L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Quads come in eight different quads to choose from. I personally love Nude Lingerie the best. The white high lighter shadow is my favourite shadow in the quad. It really brightens the whole of my eyes and looks great when used under the eye brow arch. The darker colours apply smoothly and are really pigmented in colour.

VERDICT - At £7.99, this quad from L'Oreal is really expensive for what it is but that doesn't mean I don't love these eye shadows! I love the colours because they very pigmented, long lasting and suitable for both day and night. The quad comes with handy instructions for how to do an effortless smoky eye. I like the double ended brush which also is a little bit angled. I really love the highlighter and I do love how the shades compliment each other. This quad is perfect for anyone who wants a natural eye that looks glam at the same time. I think this a great set of eye shadows for beginners!

I would love to buy this quad again but it's just too expensive.

Soap and Glory Wowed Mouth Palette review!

I've always been a massive fan of Soap and Glory, especially the skin care products. Surprisingly, I'd never tried Soap and Glory's cosmetic range until I received the 'Wowed Mouth Palette' at Christmas! What I love about Soap and Glory's Wowed Mouth Palette is that it contains all six colours from Soap and Glory's Super-Colour Fabulipstick Satin Finish lipsticks.

Soap and Glory's Wowed Mouth Palette contains all six shades of
Soap and Glory's Super-Colour Fabulipstick Satin Finish lipstick collection.

I love the classic Soap and Glory packaging. Vintage, bold and eye-catching! This palette is sure to look good in anyone's make-up stash! The product comes in a cardboard case with a magnetic fastening. It includes a mirror so you can re-apply your lippie on the go. I was also pleased about the double sided brush that was also included in the palette. I found that the brush was a great applicator to use as the bristles were so soft on the lip. Also the bristles didn't fall out which is always a plus!

My first impression of Soap and Glory Wowed Mouth Palette was the variety of the colours. I find that the colours are fairly similar to each other but personally I love them all! The shades included are Naked Beige, Guava Rama, Red My Lips, The Missing Pink, Perfect Day and Man Trap. Each lipstick is very pigmented - even the lightest colour!

I find that the consistency of the lipsticks are thick and creamy and feel extremely lightweight on the lips. The lipsticks are extremely moisturizing with a sheer, matte finish. They also have incredible lasting power! I found that the lipsticks lasts for up to 6 hours and don't transfer easily! Once the lipstick has eventually faded my lips are left with a 'just bitten' effect.

Soap and Glory's Super-Colour Fabulipstick Satin Finish lipsticks have “collagen boosting properties with a plumping effect.” However, I found that the lipsticks made my lips appear a little more fuller but not 'plumper' as the product claims.

Swatches (L-R): Naked Beige, Guava Rama, Red My Lips, The Missing Pink, Perfect Day, Man Trap!

Naked Beige: This is one of my favourites of the palette! The shade is a lovely neutral colour. I wasn't sure if this colour was going to suit me as I am quite pale skinned but Naked Beige applies a subtle brownish nude that makes it easy to wear for any skin colour.

Guava Rama: This is quite different from Naked Beige. This is one of the two pink shades in the palette. Guava Rama is the darker pink of the two. It is a gorgeous pink colour that is bright but natural looking on my lips. It looks almost beige-pink but it is very wearable.

Red My Lips: I absolutely love this shade. However, this is not a red lipstick so I find the name very misleading. This is more of a brown colour and very similar to Naked Beige but with a warm reddish tint. It is much more comfortable to wear than a red lipstick.

The Missing Pink: This is a very light natural pink but goes on lips nicely and suits my lips natural colour. It is very nice 'grown-up' pink and very pigmented for such a light colour.

Perfect Day: This colour is gorgeous to wear. It has warm tones to it and is much more rosier than the other colours. This shade is quite like Guava Rama but darker. It makes a lovely natural colour to wear for both day and night.

Man Trap:  This shade is more red than Red My Lips! This is quite a retro red, perfect for anyone that wants vintage make-up look. It says on the lips for a long time without the colour fading. The red is subtle enough to be worn through out the day.

VERDICT - First of all, I love every colour in the palette! I'm not sure you can buy this palette anymore but you can definitely buy each lipstick separately. I love the staying power of each and every shade. You can't fault it! Because it stays on for so long you might expect the lipstick to dry your lips out but Soap & Glory lipsticks feel like are ultra moisturising without the sticky feeling.

The smell must also be mentioned. These amazing lipsticks smell like chocolate, another plus for me! I can't really fault these lipsticks but the price is a tad to expensive for my liking at £9.00. However, you get a lot for that price. Long-lasting, a subtle sheen, very pigmented and smells beautiful! I'll definitely be re-purchasing a Soap & Glory lipstick again!
