Revlon ColorStay Foundation review!

I wasn't the foundation fiend that I am right now back when I bought Revlon's ColorStay foundation. The foundation has longwearing coverage with a lightweight formula that won’t cake, fade, or rub off. It also has an SPF of 6. The foundation provides medium to full coverage that won't budge for up to 16 hours! It has two formulas, oily/combination to normal/dry so this foundation suits every skin type. As I have oily/combination skin I couldn't wait to try this product out!

Revlon's Colorstay Foundation in Ivory.

Revlon include 20 beautiful shades in the ColorStay collection. The colour I purchased was Ivory as it was the closest colour to my natural skin tone. It's important to find the perfect match for your skin tone with any foundation but as this foundation gives a matte finish you don't want your foundation to look 'caked' on to the skin.

I quite liked the packaging of Revlon's ColorStay Foundation. It has a sturdy glass bottle that is great to carry around in your make-up bag! However, what I didn't like about this foundation was that it didn't come with a pump. I can't control how much product I use and this results wasting the foundation and a lot of mess! Another thing I disliked about this foundation was the scent. The scent smells almost like paint and worst of all the unbearable odour just doesn't fade away!

What I love about Revlon's ColorStay Foundation is the thick consistency. I found that the coverage definitely is medium to full coverage that is easy to build up. The foundation does cover up my imperfections like my acne scarring along with still looking natural with a matte finish. However, I found that this foundation dries very quickly so it is so hard to blend. I find it best if you apply the foundation to small areas to the face and blend very quickly. Another thing I disliked about 'ColorStay' is that when applied the foundation feels almost sticky. Personally, I didn't find this foundation lightweight as it gave my skin an almost 'masked' feeling.

Before I used Revlon ColorStay Foundation.

After using 'ColorStay' my complexion has a medium to full coverage with a matte natural
finish.
VERDICT - I do love the coverage that Revlon ColorStay gives my skin. It has a medium to full coverage that looks natural. It doesn't look greasy at all. As you can see from my before and after pictures, the foundation has covered my acne and scarring and over all giving my skin an even complexion. I love the staying power too! It doesn't budge or transfer easily. I don't know if it stays on for 16 hours but it's obviously got lasting power! A good tip is to remove the foundation with a good cleanser so you don't break out as the foundation does clog pores. I find that the foundation would benefit those with oily /combination skin types but for those with dry I won't recommend it. I hate the packaging as the bottle causes a lot of wastage due to the lack of a foundation pump.

At £12.49 this is a very good foundation but a little pricey. However, I didn't find the foundation lightweight as I found it very uncomfortable to wear like it almost sits on the face. The fragrance is absolutely disgusting. It smells just like paint and it just doesn't fade! I wouldn't buy this product again.
